OOC Help & Questions
-- I'm a member from the original Dustanova. Can I have my post count/karma count restored? Yes, you can. Just PM me on the original Dustanova with the Dustanova: Wargames account you'd like to restore your information to.
-- I'm a member from the original Dustanova. Can I be staff here? Staff are going to be appointed on an actual necessary basis. If we have enough people to warrant extra mods or admins, then they'll be added. There is no way to ask, apply, etc. I'll simply promote people who have proven themselves to be capable as far as helping out and being active goes as we need them. You know I love you all, but over moderation is as silly as under moderation.
-- So I need to have one account for each character now? Yes. One account per character to get a little bit back in touch with Dustanova's roots. People can still have multiple characters, however, it just means having multiple accounts. Original Dustanova will not be affected by this change – just Wargames.
-- Why the change? Besides getting back to grounds with the original way Dustanova was – which was 1 character a person – I want to have a little more fun with member groups and titles, which will be seen as the board progresses. Plus it ends up as easier for those of you who like to request multiple signature banners for all of your individual characters. (;
-- I'm new here, and I keep seeing references to just an original Dustanova? Dustanova: Wargames is the next chapter to the original board, Dustanova. It is set eighteen years in the future to our original board, with a whole host of different conflicts and issues. If you'd like to see the original Dustanova, then I strongly encourage you to take a peek, and maybe brush up a bit on your Dustanovan history!
-- I can say peacock now! PEACOOOCCCKK!! That's right. Now that we're officially "under new management" I've deleted all of those ridiculous censored words. All of them. This means you can swear on the boards (still not on the cbox though).. DO NOT ABUSE THIS. Abuse will be deleted and if things get out of hand, I'm just going to put the censor back up. Keep it tasteful and true to the medieval era, or I will destroy you.
-- Are half-breeds allowed? It was decided a while ago on the original Dustanova that half-breeds are possible depending on the parent races. However, there are a few things to be remembered about them!
- Half-breeds are always weaker than both parent races, showing physical and even magical characteristics from either parent as is to be expected, but excelling in nothing given. This is because most of their miracle is in the fact that they are alive at all, because two different races procreating in Dustanova is similar to two people of incompatible blood types having children in the real world. It just doesn't happen unless you're damn lucky or used a hell of a lot of prescriptions.
- Half-breeds are, for the same reason as listed above, frail and sickly in all comparison to their parent races. Most die in miscarriage, and many of those who do not die before birth die in their early childhoods. For those who survive to their adult years, life is a gift as well as a curse, because it's challenges are many compared to the every-day full blood.
- Certain traits of parent races can not pass on to half-breeds. These include elven aging (i.e. a human/elf baby would age like a human no matter what) and demon will. Also, vampires can not breed with any other race than their own, due to the fact as the mother, their bodies will reject elven blood/children and consume everything else, and as the father, they are rejected as poison by all other bodies. So elven vampires are still impossible – sorry.
