THE HUMANS: Native Tongue(s): Common Country: Glendenvale Average Magical Capability: Low Aging: 1 Year : 1 Aged Year Racial Description: The humans of Dustanova are in various shapes, colors, and sizes. The only things that they all have in common is luminous eyes and every human has markings around their eyes and sometimes on their foreheads. The markings are usually painted in a variety of bright colors, which work to signify the human's family and/or place in society. The humans are generally considered weaker than the other three races which is one thing that tends to infuriate them. They strive to disprove this assumption and have more than once made a member of the other race sorely regret underestimating them. They reside in a place that has been called the very center of Dustanova, a vast city by the name of Glendenvale. It is named after the Glenden flowers that surround and grow throughout the city. Their homes are usually brick, built with two or three stories, and built closely together. Some humans choose to live farther into the countryside of Glendenvale but the majority enjoy living in the close-knit communities within the city.
THE DEMONS: Native Tongue(s): Common, Modern Demonic Country: Cimmerii Valley (of the Ardentia Empire) Average Magical Capability: Extremely High Aging: Varies by demon and magical potency. Racial Description: The Demons are usually tall with muscled bodies, whether thick or thin, and skin with a golden undertone. They have either red, black, or dark blonde hair. Their hypnotizing eyes are usually a bright, burning or extremely dark orange or red. Horns grow from either the top of their head of their forehead and both the horns and faces of the demons are tattooed. Much like the humans, the markings on the demons display their family and ranking but unlike the humans and demon's markings also display the level of power they have. The more tattoos a demon has the higher level of power they contain. The demons have been described as 'dangerously beautiful' with their bold features and golden skin, their beautifully intricate tattoos and beguiling smiles. They are usually an very respectable group, not as volatile in temperament as most believe but when angry they are quite fear inspiring. They are arrogant and generally mean-spirited to those not apart of their race. They reside in a part of Dustanova called Cimmerii Valley. The Valley is a very warm mountain range just beyond the human and elven lands. The mountains are all a deep burgundy color and capped by what at first glance appears to be snow. The pure white substance is in fact a dust that is only native to Cimmerii Valley; a soft powder that is surprisingly warm to the touch. The dust secretes a thick white fog that swirls above the red rock covered ground. The dwellings of the demons are carved into the very mountains. It is important to the demons to have very elaborately carved homes, it is a sign of wealth and standing. Various villages are tucked in different parts of the mountain range.
THE ELVES: Native Tongue(s): Common, Modern Elvish Country: Silvanus Average Magical Capability: High Aging: 5.5 Years : 1 Aged Year Racial Description: The elves are tall and thin with skin from light gold to bronze that holds a slight shimmer in the sunlight. They have almost cat-like grace and balance along with sharp eyes and extremely good hearing. Their hair is in natural shades. Their rather large eyes are green, gold, purple, brown, and blue, colors you would find in nature. They are a calm people, quiet and thoughtful. None eat meat or any other product from animals, prefering to eat only things that can be grown. While the other races tend to believe that they are flighty, air-brained creatures who live for nothing more than plants, the elves are no such thing. They have little tolerance for things they deem 'frivilous' or 'illogical'. The one thing the other races have right is the devotion the elves hold to the earth. It is their caregiver, their mother, father, and bestfriend and they treat it and the creatures that dwell within it with the utmost respect. They live in a part of Dustanova just between the demon and vampire lands, a land called Silvanus. The entire area of Silvanus is covered in towering trees, some so large you can scarcely see the tops. The trunks are of an extreme length and within these trees the homes of the elves are built. Some of their homes are nearly indistinguishable from the other trees. Every elf's home has a picture of a bird of some kind either carved or painted on the bark instead of say, an address. Most homes have many circular windows to let in as much sun as possible and on some homes the doors are painted with bright colors
THE VAMPIRES: Native Tongue(s): Common Country: Noctivagus (of the Ardentia Empire) Average Magical Capability: Moderate Pureblood Aging: Varies by mental capacity and maturity. A vampire locked in a childlike mentality for whatever reason may remain a child forever. They may also de-age to trauma that forces their mentality to crumble, or age excessively in a rapid phase of growing up. Immortal as they are, they may grow old to the eye but they will never die. Convert Aging: Vampires who were once human, also known as converts, retain the physical appearance/age that they were converted at for the rest of their days. Racial Description: The vampires come in a variety of shapes and sizes but all are very pale. Even those with a darker tone of skin still have a bloodless palor to them. They all have different colors of hair and eyes but one thing they all have in common is an inhumane beauty. Their features are near flawless. All their hair is full and thick, their eyes large and thickly lashed, their lips full and skin smooth. They are made to be so appealing to the eyes to make them perfect predators. Some vampires were turned from humans but most were born as such. They are very sociable, they love parties and dinners and crave the company of other vampires. Dancing is one of the main entertainments among vampires along with singing and playacting. Things of beauty, such as art and clothing, greatly attract them. They have been known to prey on the more beautiful of humans and demons. While they enjoy these things do not let that make you believe that is all that they do. They are also excellent warriors with their amazing predatorial skills and while their power is no where near the level of a demon's their beauty and the natural ability to lure others to them enables them to manipulate. They dwell in a part of Dustanova named Noctivagus. A large part of Noctivagus is a forest but unlike Silvanus the trees are without life. As with all things that grow in Noctivagus they do not need sunlight to thrive. Their homes are large and imposing but beautiful.
THE MERFOLK: Native Tongue(s): Ancient Elvish, Common Country: N/A Average Magical Capability: Extremely High Aging: 1 Year : 1 Aged Year Racial Description: Eighteen years ago, rumors spread of strange shadows encroaching upon coastal villages. When the figures that cast them emerged, they were revealed as the merfolk, who in turn were revealed as the mutated and evolved descendants of a group of ancient elvish mages that were once cast away from Silvanus. Out of spite, they warred on Silvanus for three years, but were eventually cast back into the sea when their bloodlusted and hateful King was killed back in his underwater palace – rumored to be put down by the Black Ops themselves. When the majority of the merfolk retreated back into the waters, hiding away within their extensive ocean city, a few stayed behind or were simply left, either because they were wounded or had found their own reasons to remain amidst the land-dwellers. The merfolk's skin is very often pale and white, but can shift to a wide variety of pastel shades when the merfolk is under any emotional distress, whether it be anger, joy, embarassment, etc. Their hair is typically in navy though it has been seen in other similarly strange colors, but their eyes are always large, luminous, and most commonly come in black or red. Their ears are pointed much like the elves that they are descendants of, and they are similarly slender and lean in their builds. The merfolk are fanged with canines just slightly shorter than those of vampires, and possess webbed toes and fingers. Merfolk magic is most typically in water, but may come in other elements as well except for earth, to which they have pointedly renounced all ties in their culture, and so are never gifted in. The merfolk age almost exactly as humans do, and can breathe naturally underwater as well as on land.
