Situated between the borders of Cimmerii and Glendenvale, the small town of Rendenbird is often flooded with recouperating companies and agitated troops. The Dueling Rink, once a colleseum devoted to the 'Champion of the Realm' competition, now accomodates soldiers off the war campaign. The odd prisoner can be be found in the dank dungeons of the establishment, caged like monsters of old pitted against Dustanovan gladiators. It's old glory has been diminished and now the Rink's champions are chosen in bitter, mock-tournies.
Rendenbird is famous for its gruesome appearance. The murky, green-gray fogs of Cimmerii Valley cling to the city's polluted skies, making it feel like a desolate wasteland. The trees of Silvanus, towering and forboding in their grim decorum, bleed in amidst the buildings along its northern perimeters: though the ground is neutral territory, the breath of the Black Prince hangs like a heavy hand in this (essentially) human territory. As the tree-line fades to a now ramshackle city - robbed of its former splendor -, so, too, do the buildings fade as Rendenbird's lands approach the coastline. Craggy stone clefts and gray-sanded shores make the shore prominent, and the black waters of the Great Sea are forboding. Although Rendenbird's native population has always been small, the civilian count has rapidly decreased since the Ardentian Empire came to light.
Like Meyrow, Rendenbird was originally designed as a trade-land, though it seems like tainted soil in comparison. Foreign slaves are sometimes brought into the city by the Shadow Court - nature sprites, more often than not, who are too inhumane to experience sensations of oppression - and the odd Ardentian rogue can be found declaring himself in the streets. Warriors still compete in the streets, wagering anything and everything they please on thoughtless brawls; in this day and age, they have nothing to loose, and money is of the very least importance.
During the period of the Great War, Emperor Thorown attempted to add Rendenbird to his collection of dominated territories in order to use it as a strategical point against the elves. Silvanus scorned those attempts and held ground, but combat within the tradeground was long and boisterously bloody. Likewise, Cimmerii Valley turns its eye upon Rendenbird upon occassion with similar thoughts, though the combined Allied forces have proven too strong. As of now, the city has escaped Ardentia's grasp.
